dave proctor: invisible mayor.

November 11th, 2009 | Comments Off | Posted in WRP News

Check out the brand new issue of Invisible City (and, if you’ve got the cojones, every past issue). It’s an online art zine based out of Australia and yours truly is featured with a story that has finally found a home.

It’s a good feeling.

and, if you find yourself needing some entertainment on November 25th in the central Toronto area, please come out to University of Toronto’s Hart House Library for a live reading from Blank State and a lecture on DIY art by yours truly. The facebook event can be found here:

wrp at december’s Small Press Book Fair

October 13th, 2009 | Comments Off | Posted in WRP News

I know it’s really early (it’s not if you’re writing the follow-up to a novella thats needs to be finished soon as hell), but it looks like Wooden Rocket Press is going to be a part of the Toronto Small Press Fair, December 12th at the Gladstone hotel.

I’ve got a half-table, so I’ll be determining ways to make everything extra-memorable.

Check out http://torontosmallpressbookfair.org in the meantime. See you on December 12, litgeeks.

the greatest book launch of all time. recap.

September 28th, 2009 | Comments Off | Posted in Blank State

Matt turned to me and said “This is a really great format for a book launch, by the way.”
To which I promptly replied, “Matt, I’m not going to lie to you. I’ve never been to a book launch.”

The show was a roaring success and I want to thank everyone that came out, made an appearance, bought a drink, asked me to sign their book, etc. I was happy I had a chance to talk to as many people as possible, and I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. At the end of the day, I have something to point to now, and its thanks to you guys.

Special gratitude to my family, the musical acts, and the artists from Funktion, without whom none of yesterday would have been as badass as it was.

Tomorrow I start anew on two fresh projects for WRP and Blank State volume One: Old Teeth.

you can’t wait and neither can I.

ps. pictures to follow, taken by the lovely julia campisi and my father, whom everyone just fell in love with yesterday.
