today is the day

Today Blank State gets launched on the unsuspecting public. September 27th, 2009 is a day that will go down infamy. Infancy. Infirmary.

Blank State is a satire on the Toronto condo market (and its many many many units) and the Toronto art scene (and its many many many problems). Volume Zero: Condopocalypse Now! is the back story, the setup, the world-entering tome that will get you geared up for it.

The launch has musical performances from MJ Cyr and Chang-a-lang, and Mr. Dog Star Man himself will be DJing us through the night. I, of course, will be reading from the tiny book that you will have paid ten dollars for at the door of the BREAD & CIRCUS in Kensington.

I am really excited to christen WRP with a project so very personal to me. I hope you guys like it.

Today, the first run of Blank State volume Zero: Condpocalypse Now! graced my hands. All 150 books are blocking the exit to my apartment and they weigh far too much when you put them all together. But they’re available. Online through this website or at one of many fine retailers at the beginning of next week. You can start by picking them up at This Ain’t the Rosedale Library in Kensington Market here in Toronto. Or buy them online.

Or bump into me on the street and introduce yourself. I’ll be there, books in hand.
