So I’ve been AWOL

August 15th, 2010 | Comments Off | Posted in Uncategorized

Life waits for no self-publishing entity, I seem to have noticed.

Blank State Volume One: Death of a Spearholder has been launched, skyward, to much applause and backslapping. A full month after the book launch (which was about 3 whole months of straight stress and preparation) I have emerged from a shell of moving in with my girlfriend and doing manly stuff around the house to write more fu-fu literature for you guys. Hells yes.

So to celebrate this, not only do I want to congratulate and thank Teenage Kicks for playing the book launch and launching their own EP this friday (which you can download, for free, here), but also Derbert Plaza and Arietta for delivering hellishly good performances and making everything memorable.

I would also like to point out that the store is reactivated and capable of selling both volumes of Blank State to anyone in the world, if anyone in the world would be so interested.

Pictures from the launch will be up here this week, now that my new digs are all set out, as well as more frequent blogs because, honestly, I miss writing. It’s been a good month of vacation but life is empty without craft and art. And without you guys to read it, art and craft would be hollow follies.

I would like to leave you with this video that some people have been watching. It has jumped in a week from 2,000 views to 500,000, and I hope it will spark some thoughts in you, ranging from “I hate hipster art” to “perhaps this video is itself a reflection on the alienated attitude people have taken towards art, and is, in fact, quite sneaky and hilarious,” as it’s been something gestating inside me for the last little while. Well talk about this soon.

Peace, love, words, canned beans and urine,

dp
