no more f’naround. sample of Blank State volume One: Death of a Spearholder, up. Now.

It’s been a long time coming.

My dream is to launch these novellas on a 6 month release cycle. Not too long and not too short. Enough time to do all the work myself (and get the greatest help from the greatest minds for the low cost of free. Seriously, I owe people the world) and still quick enough to keep things interesting. This last 6 months has been, needless to say, difficult.

But the fruits are starting to pay off, and they start here. Blank State volume One: Death of a Spearholder is past it’s final edits. It’s in the art and layout phase, and soon, it’ll be in the in-your-hands-getting-meatball-sandwich-sauce-all-over-it-phase. If I dream to get them done on 6 month rotations and, for the first one, have to put it out in 7, I’m not complaining.

This sample, the first 12 pages or so, is markedly different than the first book. But that’s the fun. This one is told from the perspective of the Actors, the dark-horse cannibals from the first novella who spend a bulk of their time watching. Oh, and eating people. I got a chance to really cut my teeth with some experimental form in this one and I think it comes off as stronger, smarter, and better. The 6 million dollar man of indie-press books, if you will.

The greatest thanks goes to Indigo Yorkdale, the people that hosted my first ever book signing, and gave me a chance to talk to dozens of awesome people. There are going to be a lot of big changes in the next little while, and I’m nothing but excited. Your patience is rewarded.
